The interaction between light and matter has been used to generate quantum light from decades. One of my interests is to investigate novel ways to generate quantum states of light by exploiting the modified energy structure that emerges when matter hybridises with a strong, coherent driving field. The resulting energy levels feature photonic transitions different from the "bare", weakly driven system, and these can be further enhanced and harvested by modifying the photonic density of states with cavities.
